Show Notes:
There are some people in our lives who make a great impact on us without us even recognizing it at the time. Can you think of any such person in your life? Well one of those people for me was Casey Taylor. Coach T, as I like to call him, is the head football coach of Inderkum High School here in Sacramento California. He has been teaching and coaching football for over 18 years now here in the Sacramento area and in that time has had 17 playoff appearances, reached nine section championships, winning seven of them, and reached the state championship game 4 times, winning one of them. However, Coach T doesn’t measure his impact by his success on the football field. On the show today we talk about:

  • Who Coach T is, where he came from, how he got into coaching football, and a turning point that helped him find his purpose in coaching. (4:50)
  • Various stories of the human side of coaching and how he tries to operate as a transformational coach and not just a transactional coach. (16:54)
  • His coaching philosophy and he points out that his coaching style is like his barbecue style: low and slow. (26:52)
  • What he feels has been the key to his success behind the scenes in his life and  why he wants to live a significant life and not a successful life (39:07)
  • What it means to him to be a contender. (47:17)
