Show Notes:

Physically, who’s the biggest, baddest, strongest person you can think of? Maybe it’s Andre the Giant. Or The Rock. Or maybe Hafþór Björnsson, i.e. the Mountain from the hugely popular TV series, Game of Thrones. Either way, physical strength and size can be awe inspiring.  But there’s another kind of strength that isn’t so easily viewed from the outside. It’s an inner strength, usually born and cultivated over years in the rich soils of trial, loss, pain, heartache, and injustice. And this strength can be just as powerful and just as awe inspiring. That's what makes our guest today so incredible. He's a combination of both physical and mental strength.

Our guest today is Shea Taylor.  Shea is a devout Christian, an amputee athlete, a professional MMA fighter, a top 5 U.S. ranked adaptive golfer, an avid cook, an entrepreneur with a very successful consultant company, a public speaker, a bully to bullies, and, since this recording, he was named Mr. Health and Fitness 2021. On the show today we discuss the following:

  • Who is Shea Taylor and what does he do (5:49)
  • The impact of Shea's childhood on his future (7:31)
  • Shea opening up about his family (18:23)
  • Becoming the Bully's Bully (25:50)
  • How Shea got into MMA (29:22)
  • Shea loosing his leg and what this taught him about humility (35:43)
  • How Shea strives to maintain the humility he was given (43:35)
  • A couple of Shea's daily routines for success (52:00)
  • What does it mean to Shea to be a Contender (57:25)
